We have had quite a few questions asking us about ways you can help by volunteering your time in schools and orphanages in Bali, Indonesia, Asia.  We also get lots of queries about teaching children abroad in schools and orphanages overseas in Bali during a gap years or volunteering placements. The following list of companies is a compilation of organisations that offer a similar service if you don’t want to go at it alone.  Please be cautious about their fees and costs as most are NOT charities and mealy provide a service that you will pay for just like any other holiday.

5) Surf & Teaching English in Bali (i-to-i Live Changing Travel)

Located in Canggu, Bali
Pour in plenty of crystal blue waters, a liberal pinch of golden sand, remove all tourists and bake in the sun for 24 hours and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a tropical paradise. 6) Teach English & Sports in Orphanages and Schools in Bali (Travel To Teach)

Location is Giayar, Bali
Travel to Teach volunteers work for 3 to 4 hours a day working at the SD Negreri school on Monday’s and then at the nearby Yasan Penolong Orphanage from Tuesday to Friday. The standard of English in the tourist areas of Bali such as Kuta, Sanur and Ubud is generally good. However once you move away from these areas English is rarely spoken and the standard of English teaching is low, schools are badly equipped, English lessons are unorganized and the English level of most teachers is basic…

Location is Klungkung, Bali
The Panti Asuhan Kristen Orphanage is a Christian non Governmental foundation, which receives a little assistance from the government as well as donations from different donors. The orphanage is located just outside the city center of Klungkung and houses and educates around 200 children aged between 6 and 18 from all over Indonesia. Nearby the orphanage there are a number of schools which the orphans attend. Volunteers will be assisting teachers in one the nearby schools and will work between 3 to 4 hours a day…

Location is Ubud, Bali
In Ubud, Travel to teach is working in partnership with the Bali Children’s Project. The Bali Children’s Project is a non profit organization which is dedicated to helping communities escape poverty through education. Volunteers will be assisting teachers in one of the nearby schools during the morning.
