Charitable Ways To Help The Children

If you are travelling to Bali, Indonesia and want to help children in orphanages or schools with their education, there are a few simple things that can make a real difference. You can also donate to Children Of Bali directly so we can help children in Bali with their school education.

  • Firstly, read our FAQ section on travelling to Bali visiting Schools or Orphanages.
  • You might also like to view the list of Orphanages in Bali.
  • Consider contacting our charity Children Of Bali so we can give you some advice and maybe arrange a visit to one of the local Schools / Orphanages.
  • Before you leave your country pack 100 or so zip lock bags to fill with goodies for the children once you arrive in Bali (a class can be from 20-40 and an entire school anywhere from 60-200 children in size).
  • While you visit Bali take a look at the stalls and shops or even better a wholesale stationary store and buy items such as pens, pencils, paper, crayons, and other stationary items. Try not to buy knock off / fake items from stalls or shops as the sources they get the merchandise from may not always be ethical.
  • Fill each of your zip lock bags with one of each item to give to each child in the school you plan to visit. It’s also nice to give a pen or useful item to the teacher as well (they don’t earn much money).
  • It is not uncommon for the Orphanages and Schools to ask for identification so please remember to bring it with you.
  • Please do not carry large quantities of donations into Bali. Keep within your baggage limitations. i.e. 20kgs, 30kgs per passenger. Customs may query large quantities of donations due to the potential commercial value in the goods. The total value of imported goods must not exceed USD250.00. Donations over this amount will be subject to duty.
