Bali is a VERY Beautiful Island with very beautiful and friendly people. The Balinese are kind and have many talents. They suffered a lot since the bombings in the small town of Kuta as the tourist trade in the area collapsed.
Our charity would like to support children with their education all the way, from junior to senior school and beyond and maybe university education too. We would sponsor them all through their schooling giving them a good start in their lives. This is surely what every child is entitled to have? We will support them with pens, books and other essentials. We will be looking specifically at schools with the greatest needs. Anybody travelling to Bali on holiday from the UK could get involved with a school that needs help and support.
Our aim is to work through an Indonesian organisation called the YKIP (Yayasan Kemanusiaan Ibu Pertiwi) or "Mother Earth Humanitarian Foundation" This Foundation is located in Bali and its volunteers has a good knowledge of local education conditions. Our charity will concentrate mainly on children who have lost one or both parents. It has been estimated that the annual schooling costs for one child is about £200 per child. We have chosen YKIP as our local partner for their good name: we can be sure that the money we give goes to the right children and is not wasted on administrative charges.
If you wish to get involved in the welfare and wish to see the progress of the children we support and the schools we work with, we can arrange relevant information giving background and where appropriate provide photographs.
Please Contact Children Of Bali for more information.
